Gus illustration — About page

Pose: arms loosely crossed, slight shrug
Wall text: "Still figuring it out."

My name is Gus. I've made most of the financial mistakes a person can make without actually going to prison. This is the part where I tell you what I learned.

This blog is not written from the finish line. It's written from the kitchen table, in the middle of the mess, by someone who is still fixing it. The mistakes are real. The frustrations are real. The practical fixes are researched and sourced because getting the information wrong would make everything worse.

What this blog is

One post at a time. One mistake per post. One practical fix. A Gus illustration for every situation because sometimes a picture of a guy looking at a tax form with dead eyes says more than three paragraphs.

The voice is PG-13. The information is verified. The goal is to write the blog that would have helped Gus before Gus needed it.

What this blog is not

Financial advice. Tax advice. Legal advice. Investment advice. A get-rich system. A prosperity mindset. Motivational content. Any of that. Gus is not qualified to give any of that and would not trust himself if he were.

The affiliate thing

Sometimes a post mentions a product or service that's actually worth using. If you sign up through one of those links, Gus might make a few dollars. That doesn't change the recommendation — a worse product with a better commission doesn't get linked here. The whole thing only works if it stays honest.
